About Yom Kippur

Welcome to the Yom Kippur page of Community Christian Academy & Preschool! Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement, is one of the most important and solemn holidays in the Jewish faith. It falls on the 10th day of the Jewish month of Tishrei and is observed with fasting, prayer, and repentance.

On this sacred day, Jewish people worldwide gather in synagogues to seek forgiveness for sins committed throughout the year. Yom Kippur marks the end of the Ten Days of Repentance, which begin on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year.

Yom Kippur Celebration at Community Christian Academy & Preschool

At Community Christian Academy & Preschool, we embrace and respect diverse faiths and beliefs. We are delighted to invite our students, their families, and the community to join us for a special Yom Kippur celebration.

Our Yom Kippur celebration will involve educational activities, storytelling, music, and discussions exploring the profound meaning and traditions associated with this holy day. We believe that by fostering understanding and appreciation for different cultures, we can create a more inclusive and empathetic community.

Early Closure of JCC at 3:00 p.m.

As Yom Kippur is a day of reflection, prayer, and fasting, our local Jewish Community Center (JCC) will be closing early at 3:00 p.m. to allow its staff and members to observe the holiday. We are grateful for the JCC's commitment to promoting religious and cultural awareness in our community.
