Memorable Moments and Activities
On November 11, 2017, the entire Community Christian Academy & Preschool community came together for a day filled with activities and celebrations, dedicated to honoring the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country with selflessness and dedication. It was a day filled with gratitude, patriotism, and heartfelt appreciation.
Opening Ceremony
The Oak Hill Veterans Day 2017 celebration started with a moving opening ceremony. The ceremony brought together our students, teachers, parents, and, most importantly, our honored veterans. The American flag was raised while our talented choir beautifully sang the national anthem, filling the atmosphere with patriotism and pride.
Inspiring Guest Speakers
We were privileged to have distinguished guest speakers, including decorated veterans, share their stories and experiences. Their inspiring and personal accounts gave our students a deeper understanding of the sacrifices made by our veterans to protect our freedoms and uphold our values. Our students listened attentively, gaining knowledge and developing a profound respect for the dedication demonstrated by these true heroes.
Interactive Exhibits and Demonstrations
Throughout the day, our students had the opportunity to engage in interactive exhibits and demonstrations that showcased various aspects of military life and equipment. They explored military vehicles, learned about different branches of the armed forces, and participated in hands-on activities designed to give them a taste of what it's like to serve our country.
Letters and Gifts
One of the highlights of Oak Hill Veterans Day 2017 was the heartwarming letter-writing activity. Our students, guided by their teachers, wrote letters of appreciation to our veterans, expressing their gratitude and admiration for their service. The letters were then personally delivered, along with thoughtful gifts, by our students, who eagerly embraced the opportunity to express their gratitude directly.
Closing Ceremony and Community Outreach
The day concluded with a closing ceremony filled with music, poetry, and heartfelt speeches. As an extension of our gratitude, Community Christian Academy & Preschool organized a community outreach program, which aimed to raise funds and awareness for veteran support organizations. We demonstrated our commitment to serving those who have served us and inspired our students to be active participants in their community.
